Mission WPC will be holding a Fall Pre-Season Training Camp on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, August 19-27. The training sessions are designed to provide athletes with an opportunity to give Mission WPC a try and get back in the swing of things as we prepare to get back to full time training and competition during our upcoming Fall Session.
Workouts will be held from 5:30-7:00 pm (12U) & 7:00-8:30 pm (14U) at the JSerra Aquatic Center and are open to all 14U and 12U boys with current USWP Membership.
There will be a short meeting in the bleachers for athletes and parents on August 19, beginning at 5:15 pm (12U) and 6:45 pm (14U). Athletes are asked to meet in the bleachers and stay off the pool deck each night until the coaches bring them down to start workout.
The pre-season workouts will include 20-30 minutes of conditioning and skill work. 20-30 minutes of structured passing and shooting drills, and 30-40 minutes of game play. Athletes are not required to bring their bands, notebooks, or weight belts. Goggles and a water bottle are recommended. With limited time compared to our typical practices the focus of these practices will be on fundamental skills and concepts, and keeping athletes moving during conditioning, drills, and scrimmages.
All athletes must register in order to participate. Registration for our upcoming Fall Session is not required to participate. Enrollment by any new member will not count against the Week 1 trial we provide for all new athletes at the beginning of the Fall Session.
